Corporate Governance is a general term describing the good, efficient and sound managing of an organisation. In the United States of America, the downfall of Enron and Worldcom have led to the Sarbanes-Oxley law (SOx), in which regulations with regard to internal control and Corporate Governance are established for American stock market listed funds. This means that besides the yearly financial report, there must be a chapter within the yearly report concerning the evaluation of internal control. Companies not of American origin also have to conform to the SOx law when they are listed on the NYSE. In the Netherlands, the Code Tabaksblat is mandatory for all stock market listed companies.
ISEA 3402 is an internationally accepted auditing standard. It enables organisations to provide consistent information regarding the control of an organisation and its processes to the client. An ISAE 3402 controlled working environment is no longer nice to have, but a must have for organisations who deal with outsourcing. The ISAE 3402 standard as set by the IFAC is a framework for the description and certification of this outsourcing. Within the market, this standard is rigidly interpreted, while there are many options for interpretation available.
By registration in the Register you will profile your company, as a company controlled by the ISAE 3402-standard. This increases the reliability of your company as a business partner for other companies. For an organisation the control of the processes which have been outsourced are of great importance. The ISAE 3402 certification of a company is the indication that this control is embedded within the business process of the service organisation. More information on the ISAE 3402-guideline is available here.
